SIFE

The Pitt-Bradford SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) team is part of an international organization made up of college students from over 40 countries who make a difference in their communities through free enterprise projects. SIFE was started by corporate America in 1975 as a way to offer college students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise.
Working in partnership with business and higher education, SIFE establishes student teams on university campuses, like ours. Our team is led by a faculty advisor, (called a Sam Walton Fellow) Diana Maguire. She challenges our SIFE team to develop community outreach projects that reach SIFE's five educational topics:
- Market Economics
- Success Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Financial Literacy
- Business Ethics

Our Mission
We are a student-led organization that integrates entrepreneurship education and community service into service-learning programs. In completing these programs, we make a difference in our local, national and international communities. Our mission is to serve others by providing innovative learning experiences that grow business knowledge, skills, and abilities. We inspire individuals and groups to reach their potential by embracing the principles of free enterprise with a big heart.
